Jonathan E. Perley, M.D.

Dr. Perley grew up in the Long Beach area and is a graduate of Long Beach Polytechnic High School. He then went on to college at the University of California, Berkeley, where he received his B.A. in Psychology as well as his premedical studies. Subsequently, he went on to Chicago Medical School to complete his M.D. degree. In Chicago he spent a good portion of his time at Cook County Hospital, which is the hospital featured on the TV show "ER."

Having enough of the cold Chicago winters, he headed south to Houston for his surgical training. As you may know, everything in Texas is big, and the medical center there is no exception. There are over 40,000 people working and being treated every day just in the Houston Medical Center. In Houston, he spent two years learning general surgery and four years learning urology. During his training, he was Chief Urological Resident at the world-renowned MD Anderson Cancer Center, the No. 1 cancer center in the United States. He was also trained by nationally-known urologists in the area of incontinence, stone disease, prostate disease, and erectile dysfunction, to name a few.

Dr. Perley is certified by the American Board of Urology. He is on the teaching faculty at Harbor UCLA and was recently a featured speaker at the Western Section of the American Urological Association. He is currently Chief of Surgery at Lakewood Regional Medical Center

Additionally, Dr. Perley is an expert in drug therapy for bladder and prostate disorders. He speaks nationally for Pfizer, Novartis, GlaxoSmithKline, Watson, Vesicare, Sanofi and Allergan.

His hobbies include water and snow skiing, tennis and model trains.
